Implantology
Implantology – Dental implants are permanent fixed replacements for missing one or more teeth. They serve as the infrastructure (in the bone, as a substitute for the root of the lost tooth), while dental crowns and bridges serve as the superstructure (the visible part). An implant fuses with the surrounding bone (osseointegration), thereby securing itself in the jaw.
If there is a deficiency of bone and tissue, we use the latest techniques for tissue augmentation – bone grafting and sinus floor elevation, as well as bone and connective tissue transplants, to ensure the successful placement, stability, and longevity of the implant.
Additionally, we use platelet-rich plasma (PRGF) for faster and better wound healing, as well as comfortable recovery, and reduced postoperative pain and swelling.
A dental implant is a high-quality and durable replacement for a lost tooth, and a significant advantage is that adjacent teeth are not affected, meaning they are not drilled down as is necessary for bridges.
Patients report a feeling of "as if it were their own tooth", and they quickly adapt to the implant.
There is a method for immediate loading of the implant within 48 hours of placement if the situation is favorable. If the situation is not suitable for this method, in the case of lower jaw implant placement, loading the superstructure may be delayed for 2-3 months. For the upper jaw in such a situation, waiting for 4-6 months for the superstructure is advised.
Dental crowns and bridges can be placed on implants as a fixed solution, while dentures serve as a semi-fixed solution.
In the case of an edentulous jaw, there is an option for a permanent fixed solution using 4-6 implants onto which a fixed bridge (All on 4, All on 6) can be installed.
In our clinic, we use top-notch BTI-UniCa implants that fall into the premium implant category, enriched with calcium ions on their titanium surface.
Calcium helps with faster bonding to the bone and improves the cleanliness of the surface, which has received an award from the CleanImplant foundation for the best surface cleanliness of dental implants on the market.
BTI implants have a significant advantage over other implant systems as they come in short lengths (5.5 mm), which provides a great benefit for solutions involving significant bone loss in the upper and lower jaw, thereby avoiding additional surgical procedures that are prerequisites for placing longer implants.
